In line with the theme, the atmosphere was vibrant and so were the guests.
70 Toastmasters and friends graced the function. Everyone was welcomed with a lovely door gift.
The celebration started at 8pm with the welcome address by the Organizing Chair, Audrey, CTM / CL.
In his speech. president, Muhendaran, ATMS, highlighted how Bangsar Toastmasters Club started, our achievements and how we are getting better as we grow older.
Past Presidents and Charter Members, Ivan Fong, CTM and Lakhmichand, ATMB, toasted Toastmasters International and Bangsar Toastmasters Club, respectively. This was followed by cake cutting ceremony by the charter members and our current President. Six people and one knife! I wonder how they managed to cut the cake. Hmmm...
Then came the moment we were all waiting for – DINNER! We had lots of different types of food - prata, chicken sambal, vegetables, fish, fruits…. (the list goes on... ) Food was so delicious, I think most of us had second helping. Given a chance, some would have even packed back …
Dinner was followed by the games session. We started off with Charade. I conducted charade which was fun, for both, the participants and me!
The table topics session (with flash cards ) was led by Lucky Some members of the audience were roped in to participate – they came reluctantly but went away smiling, because everyone walked away with prizes. We also had Treasure Hunt, conducted by Audrey.
We had a short break to eat some more!
We had Bingo, by Lucky again. It was like a scene in a casino. Everyone enjoyed themselves very much. Lucky draw prizes were also given out throughout the duration of the party.
Finally, we announced the Mr. and Ms Toastmaster of the evening. The most vibrant, the most colorful pair was Chandran and Ajit.
We all had waited impatiently for this day - to celebrate our club’s 5th anniversary. It was quite a memorable day, filled with fun and games, and delicious food. Our 5th Anniversary Celebration was a success and loads of fun. Lots of prizes were given away which made everyone very happy.
We would like to thank Col. Goh of Help University College and Rengan for the venue. The change of venue was due to the rainy weather. We would also like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the following people who made the anniversary bash a success:
